Man I hate coming up with titles for blog posts. Especially since all my posts are… well, the same. It’s always art. I promise something more interesting… Sometime.. lol.
Anyway, this is the final promo poster for the play I’m working on.

And here’s a quick sketch I did on the weekend. Really rough, once again. I might take this one farther I don’t know, just so much work to do.

I’ve got way too much on my plate at the moment. Finishing my masters degree, finishing up some volunteer work I’m doing, learning more 3D skills and animation, being a better illustrator, becoming a matte painter… It’s draining. More than anything, I’ve gotta complete that last task on the list, it’s my only chance of ever working in film and someday living in California. That’s the dream.

I’ve been going off track lately, painting faces and characters or in some cases not painting at all. Been so busy with uni I’d be lucky to get some brief pen sketches done at the end of the day.
So took some time out today to get back to the environment stuff, the first is my own little fantasy place with my own bubble lookout
The second is a forest temple. Nothing special, just indulging myself in drawing ‘cool’ things. They’re no where near finished, just sketches, but I need to improve my environment speed sketching ability before I worry about rendering, so hopefully I will have more of these soon.
I feel like I’m getting more familiar with environs and I’m pumping them out faster than before. Still a long way to go. I need to keep focus, by the end of the year I must have another environment modelled, textured and lit for my portfolio.
I haven’t been drawing for a while. I’ve been busy with graphic design and promo stuff for a fundraiser and theatre play I’m working on. It was fun making this, though I do miss drawing. :)

I ordered my ”A Moment with You” Wong Fu DVD today, can’t wait for it to get here :)
