Alive!
Yeah, I’m starting this thing again.
So what’s new this time around?
I created the design myself, rather than use or modify a template, which is a big deal for me, because I have control of how content is being presented. Somehow using a template felt a bit second rate, almost like a hand-me-down t-shirt you get from your older sibling. It sorta fits, but not really.
It’s been fun figuring out the nuts and bolts of Wordpress and I’m loving how powerful it is. This design is pretty simple, but I just needed something lightweight and clean to emphasise content and images. Basically I wanted to capture the simple essence of those spiral bound ‘visual art diaries’ with a black cover.
There’s nothing quite like a fresh, new sketchbook.
